Growing via Motions of MS Grief with Clare Reilly

So happy to introduce to you joyful and brave Clare Reilly sharing her motions of grief after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in April 2017.  Clare is an Outdoor Educator graduate, a Mum to 7 year old Elliot (who has appeared as a Guest on his Mum's Podcast this month) and wife to Jay.Clare amplifies how her life has changed from the diagnosis of MS, and basically from the get-go, refusing to let MS define her.In David Kessler’s book ‘Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief’ he mentions “Love and grief are inextricably intertwined.” and “…Healing doesn’t mean the loss didn’t happen. It means that it no longer controls us.”  The latter sums up how Clare is living her life now – with more meaning. Her effervescent nature and resilience allow her to do the normal, day to day simple things in life, incorporating her physical limitations.For Clare to better understand herself with MS and in teaching others how to love who they are, with or without a chronic illness, she launched the mindful Podcast ‘MS Understood’ in October 2020. Part 1 of 2What an honour it is to introduce a kind humble gentleman, Mr Adrian R. Douen, from Trinidad and Tobago - the last tropical island in the chain of the Carribean Islands.  It sounds heavenly, and a definite future holiday spot.Listen to Mr Douen's famous folklore tale dating back to the late 1400's linking his well-known surname to this island, his forefather being one of the first French Aristocrat family settlers of Trinidad and Tobago.  Mr Douen is also referred to as 'Jesus on earth' by his friends, due to a severe accident he had in 2017, leaving him immobile for over 3 years - and his spiritual emergence from this time, is truly remarkable.Mr Douen is a proud family man with two successful children.  He brings to the table a wealth of executive leadership, serving as a Professional Consultant and Diplomat for the Trinidad and Tobago Government in the Oil and Gas industry for over three decades.As the Chairman and CEO of several global companies that form The True Circular Economy Solution, Mr Douen and his Team are at the forefront of innovations relating to renewable energy, recycling, large emergency inflatable structures, water production, and high tech agricultural technologies - which he speaks into over 2 Podcast episodes.Mr Douen has high level involvement within the gold and precious gems and mining industry. For The Love Of Dad - Private Pasisi 31-12-48 to 11-3-21

** Initially, this special recording was only accessible to my close family members as I especially launched it for them on Dad's birthday date - 31st Dec. But as my Dad was and is still a HUGE part of my life and a big reason I continue standing strong - I've decided to keep this on a timeline for everyone's listening.  I'm sure you appreciate that this is very dear and special to me, and the intro / recording is not as 'sharp' as previous Podcasts. **This showcases a deep love a daughter has for her Dad and keeping his spirit alive, forever.  RIL Dad, we all love you so so much and Happy Birthday. *Palaivete Private Pasisi* was born on Friday 31st December 1948, a New Year’s eve baby.  Dad was born in Papuaka, Mutalau, Niue Island.  Dad told us his Mum Sialemata remembered the firecrackers going off while she was in labor with him. So, effectively Dad started his life off with a big bang and was a celebration of life right from the very beginning - no wonder he liked to party so much (and so hard too) ;).
Subsequently, Dad’s life ended with a bigger bang when diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on Friday 5th February 2021, the cause of his sudden death at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton NZ almost 5 weeks later, on the night of 11th March.
As a baby, Dad was adopted by his Uncle Tau and Aunty Moka (now deceased), and they named him Private after their friend’s rank in the army who had returned from World War II, the reason behind his beautiful and unique name - which he proudly carried in his persona.
I was privileged and blessed to have recorded these conversational snippets during the last 2 days of Dad's life, alongside my beautiful mum Mata and sisters Noeline and Ahi (Justin & little JJ).  Don't ask me why I hit record on my phone, a lot of things are unexplainable during that time, but here it is, mixed in with some meaningful Niuean and praising songs from during the honouring services prior to and on the day of Dad's funeral 17-3-21 - a very special tribute for a very special man - our Dad and a father figure/good friend to everyone he met along the way.  All, by the grace of God - thank you Lord.
